The Power of Honey

There is something about Honey.

No, not me, honey – honey. Like Honey, as in Honey Bee.

Honey is one of the most powerful food on the planet.

rawhoney_fotolia

Besides the fact that it has a shelf life of almost forever, Honey is proven to have a vast list of health benefits for the whole body.  It’s literally liquid gold. A sweet, golden fluid from beehives loaded with antibacterial and antifungal properties that when kept in its raw state, can be stored for centuries and still be edible. Honey contains hidden nutritional and medicinal value used for thousands of years, and can be traced back to Ancient Egyptians.

One tablespoon of honey = 64 Calories, 0% Fat

Here are some amazing health benefits of Honey:

1. Helps with Allergies: Aid in reducing allergy symptoms because of its anti-inflammatory properties.
2. Natural Energy Booster: Honey has high-carbohydrate load without the processed sugar. Honey’s natural sugars also prevent fatigue during exercise.
3. Cold Relief:  Soothes sore throat and is a natural cough suppressant.
4. Memory Booster: Honey helps the brain absorb calcium, helping to enhance memory and prevent cognitive decline and dementia.
5. Anti-Cancer: Studies show that honey possesses carcinogen-preventing and anti-tumour properties.
6.  Wounds and Burns:  A natural remedy containing antibacterial properties prevent infection and functions as an anti-inflammatory agent, reducing swelling and pain, and even scarring.
7. Skin & Beauty Must-Have:  Honey helps prevent acne, deep-clean pores, decrease wrinkle and fine lines and increase cell renewal.

Isn’t Honey just undeniably remarkable?!!  Sweet and powerful there is no denying it.

Victoria’s Secret just launched their newest fragrance, Paris.  A limited edition and also the official fragrance of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, Paris was inspired by The City of Light, which VS also deemed as “the world’s sexiest city”.

Victoria’s Secret describe the scent as “festive, crisp and sexy… captures the scent of Parisian gardens in wintertime.” Scent notes are composed of French cypress, night blooming jasmine and white cedarwood. The glamorous diamond-cut bottle seems to give a nod to the architectural style of the iconic Eiffel Tower.  The red ribbon add that touch of sexy as well as  holiday cheer to the season’s festivities.   The bottle is encased in a white and clear box with glitter and snowflakes, reflecting the sparkle of the city at night.

Paris Eau de Parfum is available in 50 ml/1.7 fl. oz. size.  The collection also includes a Fragrance Mist (250 ml/8.4 fl. oz.) and a Fragrance Lotion (250 ml/8.4 fl. oz.), which the latter you could get for FREE for a limited time.   In addition to the lotion, you can also get a FREE TOTE until Dec. 4th or while supplies last in store and online.

For those who know me well a have a slight obsession with Paris and anything Parisian. Remember my 25th Birthday Celebration?   I also love Victoria’s Secret and anything VS.  So of course there is no doubt that I had to absolutely get it.  I went to the newly opened VS at Kamakana Ali’i in Kapolei, used my $15 Angel Rewards Card and went home a very happy & fulfilled shopaholic-on-a-budget. 😉

The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show will air Monday Dec. 5, 10/9c on CBS

The New Missus

I don’t know where to begin.  I’m in total bliss.

Ms. Honey Aubrey Millon is now a missus and will now be known as Mrs. Honey Aubrey Millon Perrin.  OK, name is too long, I know.  How about Honey Millon Perrin or Honey Perrin… Bronson will be elated, I just know it 🙂

Sunday, August 7th has come and gone, and it was AMAZING.  We had the time of our lives, we hope our friends, families and guests did as well.  Absolutely nothing could have ruined our evening.  After a decade of love, it’s official and we finally tied the knot.

Sharing one of our favorite photos from IG, courtesy of my sister and maid of honor, Natalie Millon. @photoluxehi

HoneyandBronsonPerrinWedding_Photoluxe

Can’t wait to see the photos from our One Wedding Photography.  They have already uploaded the same day edit  and I am so happy to share with you too.

It was so much fun planning and preparing for the wedding.  Luckily, we had the best bride /groom squad to help alleviate the stress, however that may have felt because I never felt it, and I don’t think Brons did either.  You know that superstress, that pressure that comes with getting married and turns the bride into some sort of godzilla figure, aka bridezilla.  No, siree not me.  Word of advice to all brides is to enjoy the process and surround yourself with wonderful people who lifts you up mentally and emotionally.  I will forever be grateful to you– my sisters Natalie, Ersa, Sally, Dessa, my only brother Neil, my BFFs Kelsie & Jena, and their husbands (my BGFFs) Marlon & Juvy and of course the Perrin Family especially Aunty Genal who was just so fabulous.

Now that the wedding is done, I need a new project!  Everyone wants us to have babies but not sure I am ready for that, unless someone promises that I can have twins— girl twins so I’ll only get pregnant once and three of us can drive Brons absolutely crazy with lots of love and girly stuff haha!

Maybe I’ll blog about how it’s like to be a newlywed, or write a Part II to the book I recently wrote and published as a wedding gift to Bronson. Yes, darlings, I wrote a book, but I’ll share on another day.  How about a vlog instead.  Or maybe I’ll take baking or cooking class….and blog or vlog about it…?

Hmmmmmm…..

See you later darlings,

Love,

Missus Honey Perrin ❤

Happy Pi(e) Day! A recipe of No-Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie

It’s March 14th, aka 3.14, aka short for mathematical ratio of a circle, aka pi (3.14159265359 and it goes on).  What makes it most important this year is it is Rounded Pi Day, 03.14.16.  Get it?  This year we can round it up to four digits!

So in honor of  Pi Day and all things with a circumference, I baked pie.  Because what’s round and sounds like pi?  😉 Ok, well, I made pie.   I came across a delicious no-bake recipe of No-Bake Peanut Butter Pie from AllRecipes.com and decided to try it!

With a little bit of tweaking of the toppings, here is the end result:

It’s melt-in-your-mouth delicious!!!  Especially for those whole love peanut butter AND chocolate.

Below is my version of this recipe, (No Bake) Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie

INGREDIENTS
(1 1/2) cup powdered sugar
(1) 8 oz. package cream cheese
(1) cup peanut butter (your choice, smooth or crunchy, I used smooth Skippy peanut butter)
(1) cup milk (I used 2% reduced fat milk)
(2) 8 oz. frozen whipped topping — (or (1) 16 oz. package)
(2) 9-inch graham cracker crust

TOPPINGS
Chocolate Syrup (I used Hershey’s double chocolate sundae dream)
Chocolate Bar (I used Lindt Milk Chocolate Hazelnut Torte)

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Beat cream cheese and powdered sugar together.
2. Mix in peanut butter and milk. Beat until smooth.
3. Fold in whipped topping.
4. Spoon into two 9 inch graham cracker pie shells; cover, and freeze until firm. Should be frozen between 2 1/2 – 3 hours.
5. After pies are frozen, squeeze chocolate syrup in zig zag motion.
6. Grate some parts of the chocolate bar and sprinkle on pies.
7. Cut remaining chocolate pieces and add as topping.

The great thing about this recipe is you can also make it “low fat” by substituting ingredients with their light versions- light cream cheese, skim milk, light whipped topping and reduced fat peanut butter.

Unlike the infinite and complex pi number, this pie is so  simple to make, so easy as pie!

Happy Pi Day!!!

If the shoe fits…

I hope everyone is having a fabulous 2016 so far!  We’re almost going into February and with how fast January has come and is going (just two more days!), is proof that THE DAY will be here in no time.

August 7th is — 191 DAYS AWAY.  (27 weeks, 2 DAYS)

So I haven’t found THE dress, and I haven’t found THE shoes.  Correction.  I haven’t found the dress because I haven’t found THE shoes. (Well, I did, like five months ago, but Nordstrom, ended up “not having it in-stock” as they advertised on their website, so I placed an order only to have it cancelled, but that’s a story for another day.)  Thank you, Nordstrom for breaking my heart and providing the ultimate customer disservice.  I still love you though, I know I will find something better.

I know what you’re thinking.  Why shoes first, silly?  Shouldn’t it be the dress?  For those who absolutely know me, you understand how important shoes are to me. Wonderful shoes take you to wonderful places.  Shoes carry the wearer, and you deserve the most beautiful pair to reflect the most exquisite person you are and the magnificent adventure heading your way.  So once I find the shoe that fits, then I’ll say seriously shop for the dress.

I wanted to share some of the most alluring bridal shoes I came across, they are all so breathtaking in their own ways.

Some tips in attending a Bridal Show:

*Create a wedding email address. Use this email specifically for wedding stuff, to make life less cluttered and you don’t miss out on vendor communication, promotions and updates.
*Bring labels with your Name, Fiance’s Name, Email Address and Phone #. This makes submitting information so much more easier and effortless!
*Bring your calendar to schedule appointments, wedding organizer/planner, and wallet/checkbook for payments as many vendors have Expo specials if you sign with them that day.
*Wear comfortable shoes. As fabulous as you look in your mile-high heels, this is not the time to wear them as you will be doing a lot of walking, standing, and more walking.
*Come prepared to ask (and answer) a lot of questions. The more questions you ask, the more info you receive, and the easier for you to make your decision.
*Take lots of pictures. For inspiration or just as keepsake, take a lot of photos- smiling of course, as you’ll be walking down that memory lane later.
*Bring your squad, gals and guys, as it makes it even more enjoyable to bring your support group with you.

Don’t forget to have LOTS OF FUN. I mean lots, this wedding planning process is supposed to be enjoyable, not stressful.

See you there, bride! 😉
