My mother’s daughter….

I am my mother’s daughter…
I am her legacy.
I am my mother’s mirror.

I hope that in heaven, she feels the love reflecting from me…my sisters, and my brother.

Because we are our mother’s children.
We are her legacy.

Happy Birthday, Mama.  We all love you very much.

Born on August 1st, our mother would have turned 50 years old today, although she would always be no older than thirty-six in our memories.

Our mother was the most beautiful woman I know-

flawless fair skin, lustrous jet-black hair, dark almond shaped eyes.  Growing up I remember she would walk into a room and everyone would just turn to look at her.

I remembered thinking someday I wanted to have that effect on people. The kind of effect that would just immobilize people because of your presence.

Our mother was as beautiful inside as she was outside- always thinking the good in others, trusting them and loving them so unconditionally even though her heart broke into tiny little pieces doing so.  She was alluring, as she was tragic.

Our mother watches us from heaven.  We feel her presence in our daily lives.  I am her eldest daughter, and I made a promise to her.  My siblings- they know in my own way I am going to keep this promise.  Every year, on the first of August, on our mother’s birthday, I remember this promise and how close I am to fulfilling this.

Mothers Daughter

Because I am my mother’s daughter.

Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

Good morning my darlings!

As most of us know, Mother’s Day is less than two weeks away (Sunday, May 13).  An annual celebration to recognize beautiful mothers, motherhood, maternal bonds, and mother-figures, Mother’s Day is one of the most special days of the year.  It’s  a time to give Mom a break, take her out to lunch, have some bonding time, and just remind her that despite of the little arguments here and there, she is irreplaceable, and you are blessed with her presence.  Of course, it’s a nice time to give her a thoughtful gift as well.

For you lucky boys and gals who still are able to spend this precious day with your mother, don’t make excuses and do what you can to make it happen.  Mothers are only around for so long, and even though I myself haven’t had the luxury to take my mother out to lunch, or buy her a Mother’s Day gift for 13 years now, I was blessed to have encountered mother figures in my life to celebrate this day with.

Honey
